Head First

Do y'all remember my post about Miss Ali, running across the finish line?
Well, Ali is like my running celeb... it's like super exciting to me when she gives me a pat on the back or a high five after I've accomplished something.
She's like my biggest running inspiration.
So I get this email yesterday, and she says "SIGN UP FOR THIS"
... It's the Disney Princess Half Marathon ...
Over the weekend my mom said, "I want to come watch you finish a race"
To which I replied, wait for the half marathon, that'll be the big one...

Then this pops up... It was like a sign, prices are reduced, it's a limited offer, it's right in my face... I have time to train, really what's stopping me?
In my life, the best of things come in moments like these (twss)
I am extremely happy to report, that I am a runner in the Disney Princess Half Marathon.
February 23, 2014, I will be running my first half marathon... with a bunch of Disney characters!

I can't wait.
Thank you doesn't say enough to all of those who got me here...
I haven't ran it yet, but I never thought I would be running a half marathon.
I am running a half marathon.
GO ME.

This is a pretty emotional thought for me.
I've honestly been through SO much over the past 2 years, I can't believe I've come out alive.
I did this for me.
When I get to say, I've created this healthy lifestyle for me... It gives me chills.

Family time is better when it's forced!

Hi Friends,
I'm lacking on posting lately.
I've been busy getting ready for Julia's wedding and really have nothing thats worth posting.
I'm taking off Thursday night, and I am already vibrating in my chair.

See, I LOVE to fly. Anything to do with airports and flights. I'm THERE.
I don't know what it is, but I just adore it.
I really want to go one Christmas with a coffee and just watch people be reunited with their families.
So I'd be the crazy ass lady, sitting with a Timmy's, crying my face off, staring at you.
That wouldn't be weird right?

Anyways,
My living room looks like my closet blew up.
But nicely blew up, like it's all in neat little piles.
Shorts, pants, leggings, t-shirts, cami's, long sleeves, running gear, bridesmaid outfit... you get the idea.
Also in my suit case, is my mother's Wedding Hat.
My Mom and Dad were married in 1984, just celebrated 29 years of marriage.
Julia's Mom, my auntie Linny, also wore a wedding hat when her and my Uncle Pete were married.
Julia and I decided that we would wear these amazing hats out on the night of her bachelorette to pay tribute to this fashion statement.
So check. us. out...

However, this weekend, was a blast!!!
We drove up Friday night to FM to see my parents.
Seriously, I've never seen so much rain in my life. It rained the whole way there, all day Saturday, all morning Sunday and the whoooollleeee way home.
But that didn't stop the Stephenson's/1 adopted kid.
On Saturday morning, I weighed in (Down 2.0 lbs, BOOO YEA!), then mom and I went for a coffee together and took a little drive.
the size of the line for Coffee.. boooo!!!
When we got home, everyone was just waking up.
So they all made some breakfast and hung out for a bit.
I decided that the rain wasn't stopping me, so I ran.
MOFO's... I RAN... Check it...

There's defs something wrong with the pace there...

After that, I got dressed and ready and we headed out to the Discovery Centre.
WOOOP WOOOPP!!!!
It was actually informative, but if you gave me a test today, I would fail.
Still though, it was pretty neat.
We got to drive a simulator 797... Which is a giant ass truck. Pretty cool, Friends!

Karrone and I in the simulator
Karrone in a 1 ton bucket, these things are now 60 tons.

When we got home, we made pizza's and dispersed throughout the house for naps, book reading, and TV watching.

And puppy cuddles

My Dad fired up the BBQ (one of my favorite parts of coming home, is Dad's cooking and Mom's cuddles... I didn't just admit it though)
We had steak, shrimp and delicious salads!
Then we dove into the wine... played some outdoor lawn games in our basement and watched a movie at midnight.

Basically, I'm just saying... I love my family.
No matter what we get into, there's always a few laughs.
We have our ups and downs, we argue, we pick... but bottom line.
I love em. All of em. Especially our fur baby.
Hug em tight friends, you never know!

XO

Oh this has gotta be the gooood life!

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG

HEYO!

It's Friday. Can I just say, that was THEE hardest work week for me in a while!

I'm blasting #thatPOWER this morning, sippin the sweetest nectar that is Starbucks.

We are packed up and headed north at 4pm this evening...
I did not get any sggestions for car games...
probably because no one plays car games anymore, or just the fact that no one reads my blog.

I joke.

Thanks to anyone whose reading right now....

WOO, okay, I'm linking up with some fab ladies for 5 on Friday!
This is such a cool link up! I rove it.

Une:
~ Anything realty TV... I wasn't feeling well Tuesday afternoon, so I headed home late in the afternoon to catch some extra Zzzz's... which I did, and then I also watched some Real Housewives of OC... my fave. Anyone know a good spot to watch these online? I find them incredibly difficult to find. Remember I'm Canadian y'all.

Deux:
~ I bought plastic multi colored cups from Michael's. I get nervous taking glass cups/wine glasses on my balcony, so I could some fun pink/yellowish cups for dranks. LOVE. I have a slight obsession with cups/mugs/travel mugs/water bottles and anything that holds a liquid. Like Vine2Go... totes want one!

Trois:
~ I'm diggin spinach smoothies. My lovely sister in law informed me that it tastes just as good if you make it the night before. That's a lie. Well not entirely, it's just a little soupy-ier. That's a word, urban dictionary that shiz. I just don't add as much fruit the night before, then add in one cup in the morning to make it thick, like I like em ;)

Quatre:
~ Family time - especially in the car. I'm ridiculous. Hands down, flat out, straight up... RIDICULOUS. Sometimes, on car rides, I'm almost positive my brother wants to leave me on Highway 63. I can get a little out of hand and excited about things quickly. I just really want everyone to have fun, especially when it takes 9 billion hours to get there. Hence my car games... or this happens...

Cinq:
~ I got in 10K+ yesterday from a power walk at lunch and a run with Natalya.
I struggled through the run, majorly. It was so freakin humid. But... you never regret a work out!

Happy Friday!
XOXO

is anyone there?

heyo!
It's Wednesday, which means, I only have to struggle through 2 more days of work!
The Terrific Trifecta that is The Stephenson Youngin's are heading to Fort McMurray to tear up the town for the weekend!
We are celebrating 29 years of marriage for my parents, Happy Daddy Day for my Pops & Happy very belated - but we still love you tons - Mommy Day for my Ma!
I freakin LOVE road trips - but as I've said before, the road to Fort McMurray is not so lovely.
I'm trying to think of some ridiculous things that we can do to make the car ride interesting...
I'm open to suggestions peeps!

This past weekend was a lay low weekend - it was somewhat rainy here in ETown...
I did NOTHING for activity.
Which I could tell made a huge difference in how I felt going into Monday.

Monday was our company golf tournament.
Every year we have a bunch of clients out to Blackhawk Golf Course.
It was a beautiful day on the course, and a great excuse to be out of the office all day!
There's sponsors for different holes, and we give all the money to charity!
It was my first year, I worked the BMW hole.
They had a 320i parked at the hole and whoever got a hole in one, got 50,000$ towards a BMW at a local dealership.
The shot is pretty damn near impossible... so really it's just a tease!
I posed for some pictures...

Now... I'm just gunna brag a bit here...
I'm pretty damn sure, I have THEE best, best friend a girl could have!

She brought me these this weekend! She knows how to make me smile.
Also, she rocked her weigh in last night and lost a whopping 3.8 lbs!!!
sorry nat... I had to tell people!

I needed to hear that she did that. I am SO SO proud of her.
And selfishly, it brought me back to where I needed to be!
I fell into a bit of a rut over the weekend, on the golf course and I was almost going to let it continue...
Until I realized that I wanted to have success this week too!
I love my girl for being there, even when she doesn't realize she does it, she brings me back and grounds my ass!

Happy Wednesday, Humpers!
